New Wave by Against Me!
Angry, ballsy, and loud — that’s how we like our rock. Produced and mixed by Butch Vig of Nevermind fame, New Wave by Against Me! ($10) is a fast-paced punk assault, led by frontman Tom Gabel’s distinct vocals and a powerful, robust sound, helped along by Vig’s great mix, and showing lyrical depth sorely missing in most modern punk albums. Standout Tracks: “Piss and Vinegar,” “New Wave,” “American Abroad.”
